My dear Father who is in Heaven
Today I acknowledge your patience and grace
Indeed your love is long-suffering and kind
Your love does not envy, boast and is not proud
Your love does not dishonour others and is not self-seeking
Your love is not easily angered and keeps no record of wrongs
Your love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth
Your love protects, always trusts hopes and perseveres.
You have generously restored me to yourself
For I was lost but now am found
I was dead in sin but am now alive to Christ, dead to the world and its sinful desires
In all my ways, you have been a loving Father
Chastising me with your rod of correction so that I may be perfect even as you are
Our relationship has not been smooth sailing and that’s because I have looked at you from a perverse and fallen lens.
You knew my faults before they began to unravel yet you chose not to give up on me
I am not worthy to be called yours or to enjoy this grace and love you have so lavished on me.
Words are not enough to express what you have done and continue to do.
The emotions I am unable to articulate are very well understood by you.
I, therefore, say thanks for ransoming me with your only begotten Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth and for grafting me into your family
Help me to please you from henceforth
Yours eternally
The Redeemed of the Lord
