The great deception in Today’s Christianity: who are you following?

As I contemplate on the state of our world and its deception, I can’t but help notice that a majority of the leaders we have trusted have betrayed us. When it comes to the house of the Sovereign God, it saddens me to to see that many so called men of God whom we thought were the bedrock of the church have long drifted and sank from the truth and are operating on half truths and their past glory.

Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7 v 8 that “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit“. It is dangerous to blindly follow a person based on what we knew of them in time past. People evolve and change constantly therefore to wholly trust in a mere mortal is a grave error. Praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth that He alone is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13 v 8). He is the unchangeable God and the solid rock which is immovable and sure.

There are innumerable trusted men and women of God who are knowingly leading masses to hell due to their refusal to preach the true gospel of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 4 v 17

In today’s society, the gospel of repentance, restitution and holiness is seen as loss leaders while the cash cow messages of faith and prosperity which tickle the ears of its hearers is what we the children of God are being bombarded with. Many pastors have PR gurus and marketing teams to sell and manage their brands. It’s as if the “church” has become a business entity and it’s those who are good at that business who are known. It’s no longer about souls but about popularity, how many books one has written, the number of speaking engagements in a year and the “click” one belongs to. Believers are being scammed out of their hard-earned cash all in the name of sowing seeds and supporting the merchandise of their beloved pastors believing that by so doing their breakthroughs will manifest. What we need to understand is Yahweh is cannot be branded and nobody can make Him look good. Those who do the above mentioned promote themselves and not the gospel of Christ. Although what they say may sound good and
tickle the ears of the baby and undiscerning Christian, a matured child of God will notice it’s another gospel that is leading masses to hell. Apostle Paul said to the Galatian church that:

As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Galatians 1 v 9

With this in mind, here are some questions to ask ourselves: -Who is my spiritual leader? -Is he walking in the way of God?
-Men may know him but does God know him?
-What type of Gospel is He preaching? – Is my soul being fed and prepared for eternity under his ministry?

Please let’s understand that a preacher having a great following doesn’t mean that he is of God. Jesus Christ, Himself said:

For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Matthew 24 v 28

God is not always with the masses and has said in His word that many are called but few are chosen. There are masses on their way to hell all because they followed the crowd and went to the church that fed them their earthly wants not their soul’s eternal need.

To the Laodicean church of our time, let’s understand that God cannot be branded with a PR stunt. No one can make Him cool or relevant. He is the Almighty, the Omnipotent and all sufficient God. He needs no man to make Him any bigger than He already is. Compromising the standard of God to grow a church doesn’t earn you favour with God and anything done for God which goes against His His will and word will result in you being rejected by Him.

21¶Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7 v 21-23

Let’s understand that the race we are in is not about popularity or who has the biggest names in the ministry. It is certainly not about how mega the church is and the riches of the Head pastor and its members. Being wealthy in earthly possessions does not equate to wealth in the spiritual realm. God does not look at things the way men do and He says:

17Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. Revelation 3 v 17-18

Lack of knowledge makes the people perish. When you compare the gospel Christ and the early apostles preached, how does it compare to today’s preachers? When was the last time your so called man of God preached about repentance, sanctification, holiness and restitution? When did your pastor last preach about the rapture, heaven and hell and the judgment of God? The mainstream Church and its cult like leaders are sending many innocent souls to hell while piling up a fortune in their accounts. Wolves in sheep clothing! Hirelings who don’t care about the sheep of God! Indeed Jesus Christ alone is the true good shepherd.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 10 v 11.

Let’s focus on Jesus Christ, read His Word and ask Him to lead us to His true servants who will lead us to the promised land.
