We are living in unprecedented times with the whole world at a standstill. Many of us have never experienced anything like this and wonder how we will be able to cope with being incubated for so long.

Families and loved ones are being kept apart due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has gripped the entire world. This virus is no respected of persons and has claimed the lives of thousands of souls. Institutions such as churches and non-essential activities have been shut down all to aid the containment and to slow down the spread of this virus. Due to this, many have lost their livelihoods with the world facing a global recession. It’s highly probable that life as we have known it will not be the same again.

As a heavenly minded person, what should we be doing during this time of mandatory isolation? I believe the times we are in are not for indulging our flesh with entertainment, social media or excessive eating but the time to seek the face of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Now is the time to seek God for the forgiveness of our sins and seek mercy for our souls.

We need to set our houses in order, turn away from all the things we know we do that doesn’t please God and make all the necessary amendments to our lives while we still have the chance.

As I write to you, I can categorically inform you that I am not perfect. As I analyse my walk with the Lord Jesus Christ, I can see that somewhere along the way, I became complacent with my quest for holiness and began to forget some of the standards the Lord has set for me. God rewards obedience and I pray for the strength to carry on with what He wills and wants for me.

Let’s use this season as an opportunity to prepare ourselves. We know not when our Lord will come for His church. The Bible is true and every word of God will be fulfilled. Let us wake up from our slumber so that Christ will give us His light (Ephesians 5 v 14)

May Christ give us the strength to wait and set our hope on Him during these trying times. Let’s reject fear and live by the word of God so that the promises of God can be ours.

In the meantime let us :

Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:

Hebrews 12 v 14

May God bless and protect us all in Jesus Christ name
